'People are fearful' - the reasons 'juggernaut' Arsenal have become the team to beat.

There's no doubt why Arsenal stand as countless pundits' top picks to claim the Premier League this season.

Examine their outcomes against Newcastle and Crystal Palace compared to those identical matches during the prior term.

The Gunners have beaten all of them during this campaign, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race previously.

Impenetrable Backline

Arsenal's backline resilience is a primary factor why they are appearing strong to ultimately achieve their title target.

They rank top for unbreached games (6), shots let in (3), attempts against (72), shots on target faced (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the strongest in the league, with Arsenal keeping a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Proficiency

Their effectiveness from free kicks is highly documented, but opposition teams still don't know how to stop the Gunners from these situations.

They have notched 11 times from set-pieces in the league, a couple extra than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can excel in various aspects now. The whole team has a daunting aura. People are just fearful of them and it is wonderful to see."

Title Potential

What is especially notable about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also encountered Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United at opposition grounds and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they maintain victories, their long-standing opponents are struggling. This marks the first time at this point of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on head coach Mikel Arteta at the outset, having spent around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in pursuit of that coveted first title since 2004.

But the investment has so far paid off in impressive fashion, with his side second top scorers in the league and having the most resilient defense, despite numerous injuries.

  • Clean sheets in three straight Premier League games
  • 385 minutes without conceding a goal
  • Only three goals in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and experts have described Arteta's men as a "unstoppable force, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now performing with belief and determination.
